Art, Culture, Fine Dining, Historic Lodging, and the Oregon Shakespearean Festival are only about an hour away over the hill....make it a weekend!!!

Ashland is a pretty, small town...surrounded by gorgeous mountains, lazy creeks, and roaring rivers.

This is a place where incredibly talented chefs prepare locally grown cuisine to pair with award winning local wines.

A place where high tech meets high touch.

Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and an array of other visual and vocal artistry.

Ashland offers you the space to remind yourself who you truly are.

We invite you to come see it, drink it in, soak it up, and indulge your senses.

Destination Ashland...the place for your visit.

Ashland, voted #2 in the “Best Small Art Towns in America”, has over twenty galleries, four local theaters in addition to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and a thriving music scene.

Ashland is home to dozens of art galleries and shops, but also to a recently expanded art museum of growing reputation.
In the galleries, the emphasis is on Northwest artists, some of whom are nationally known. At the Schneider Museum on the Southern Oregon University campus, visitors can see major contemporary exhibits from around the country. The student-run Gallery at Stevenson Union has first-rate invitational exhibitions, too.

Ashland’s galleries and shops offer a remarkably diverse range of fine arts and crafts. You can find representational as well as contemporary paintings and fine art prints, sculpture, glass, Native American and visionary art, pottery and ceramics, jewelry and fabric art, and fine hand-crafted furniture. There is a First Friday Art Walk each month sponsored by the Ashland Gallery Association, which in the spring also puts on the Taste of Ashland — a fantastic way to walk through town, viewing art while sipping wine and sampling locally created delicacies. Another attraction is the Ashland Historic Railroad District‘s Walking Tour. Southern Oregon Historical Society is a complex interactive group of 16 exhibits including Children’s Museum, historic homes and grounds tours, including the History Center in Jacksonville, the museums in Jacksonville, and the historic Hanley Farm in Central Point.

Also in the region the Britt Festival

Now in its 45th year,Britt Festivals is the Pacific Northwest's premiere outdoor summer performing arts festival. Located in the historic 1850s gold rush town of Jacksonville, Oregon (USA), Britt presents dozens of summer concerts, featuring world-class artists in classical music, dance, jazz, blues, folk, bluegrass, world, pop and country music. Britt's performance venue is a naturally formed amphitheater set among majestic ponderosa pines and native madrones on the beautiful hillside estate of 19th century photographer Peter Britt. Viewing a map of the facility will give you clearer picture of how we have combined stadium seating within this natural setting. Tens of thousands of music lovers travel from all over the West to enjoy Britt's world-class performances, spectacular scenery and casual, relaxing atmosphere.

Britt is a convenient day's drive from Seattle or San Francisco, and is located just five miles west of Southern Oregon's largest metropolitan area, Medford, and only 15 miles north of Ashland and the world-famous Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Oregon's only National Park, Crater Lake, is a scenic two-hour drive from Britt.
